Day 1

Last Chance Qualification Rounds

If you haven’t qualified for the Microsoft Excel World Championship (MEWC) or the Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge (MECC) Finals, or simply want to test your skills one more time, don’t miss out on the Last Chance Qualification Round (LCQR).

Students can choose whether to qualify to MEWC, MECC or both competitions.

Traditional MEWC format. 

Advancing to Finals:

Based on LCQR results:

Top 36 players move on to MEWC Finals.

Top 15 students and top 5 student teams make it

to MECC Finals.

Day 2

Semi-finals for MEWC & MECC

The MEWC Semi-Finals bring together 64 players from two paths:
those who qualified in the Day 1 Last Chance Qualification Round and
those who earned their spot by being top players in the regular season
competitions. These top MEWC professionals compete for 16 coveted
spots in the Grand Finals. Players will face 3-4 tasks in an all-vs-all Simultaneously, students will identify the 12 best individual participants and the 4 best teams, all of whom will secure their places in the Grand Finals! Players will face 3-4 tasks in an all-vs-all format, and the 16 players with the highest combined scores will move on to the MEWC Finals.

 

Semi-finals for MEWC & MECC

The MEWC Semi-Finals bring together 64 players from two paths: those who qualified in the Day 1 Last Chance Qualification Round and those who earned their spot by being top players in the regular season competitions. The MECC semi-finals also feature players and teams who have qualified in a similar dual-path approach: some from the Day 1 Last Chance Qualification Round and others as top players or teams from the regular season competitions.

Individual Finals:

64 student players will compete for 12 spots in the Day 3 Final Round. Tasks will be played in an all-vs-all format, with the top 12 players advancing based on combined scores.

Team Finals:

16 teams will compete for 4 spots in the Day 3 Final Round. The top 4 teams based on combined scores will advance to Day 3 Finals.

Day 3

Grand Finals for MEWC & MECC

The highlight of the Excel Championships is the Grand Finals. Throughout the year, participants have been competing to reach this stage.

MEWC Finals:

24 professional players will compete for the MEWC Champion title and belt in an elimination format. 16 players qualified from Day 2 Semi-Finals, and 8 qualified from Online rounds.

MECC Finals:

The 12 best student players will compete in an elimination format to
claim the title of MECC Individual Champion.
The 4 best student teams will compete in an elimination format to be
crowned MECC Team Champions.

Award Ceremony

Once the competition has come to an end, it’s time to celebrate! The day will end with an awards ceremony, honoring the top performers from both MEWC and MECC with their awards.

When the competition is over and Champions identified, it is time to celebrate! The day will culminate in an award ceremony, where the top performers from MEWC, FMWC, and MECC will receive their well-deserved and stunning prizes!
